When I was a child, I'd spend everything Thanksgiving with my dad's side of the family at their home on Johns Island, South Carolina. Our fathers and brothers would disappear into the woods in hunting gear while our mothers sat down for a chitty-chat and catch up on the latest family gossip. 

My cousins and I would pretend we were princesses in far off lands and their Golden Retriever, Sundance, was our trusty steed. The golden and rust-colored leaves fell around us along with the temperatures, and it was always such a perfect, magical moment. 

Now, I spend my time dreaming up magical places and people, hoping they will find their way into your lives and minds forever.
